Dungeon Master's Code of Conduct

I will treat all players with respect at all times.

When I am involved in a quest, I will be focused only on the players that are involved in that quest, for the period of time that I am with them. If I am the only Dungeon Master connected, I will keep an eye on the Dungeon Master channel. If there is a critical situation (exploiting, hacking, etc) I may respond to that, but I will respond to general questions by saying that I am involved in a quest at the moment, and suggest that they try paging again in an amount of time by which my quest may be finished.

I will do my best to respond to every page on the Dungeon Master channel in a timely fashion, at the very least telling the player paging that I will be with them in just a moment.

I will not be afraid to say, "I'm sorry, that is the way things work here." I will likewise not be afraid to say, "That is my decision. End of discussion."

I will remember that sometimes the players win, and sometimes they lose, and that both successes and failures are an integral part of their character development. I will not "let them win" simply because they are the players. If they made poor decisions or resolved things badly, my NPCs may win.

When I am logged in as a Dungeon Master or Administrator, I have responsiblities. When I am logged in as a player, I am relieved of those responsibilities and am under no obligation to deal with DM or Administrative matters, unless it is a critical situation and there is no one else on to deal with it.
